DIRECTOR OF GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE  -  2008–2015

 

— Directed the operations of a private Tom Fazio 36 hole residential golfing community located

    in the Hilton Head area of South Carolina

 

— Organized and administered a $4M operating budget and $350K - $600K capital budget

 

— Implemented an aggressive 3-5 year cultural program that has addressed; agronomics,  
    aesthetics, staff training, and member communication

 

— Drastically improved the health of all turfgrass while raising the level of course conditioning

 

— Successfully managed Crenshaw bentgrass greens in a warm season climate that traditionally
    only cultures Bermuda grass greens

 

— Assisted in the development of a golf course master plan created by the Fazio Design   
    Company; renovated all East Course greenside and fairway bunkers, which consisted of
    architectural changes, drainage and sand

 

— Successfully transitioned Crenshaw Bentgrass greens to Mini Verde Ultra Dwarf Bermuda
    grass using the “No Till” method

 

REMINGTON RANCH  -  POWELL BUTTE, OR

DIRECTOR OF AGRONOMY  -  2007–2008

 

— Directed the development of new residential golfing facility that would have consisted of 2
    private courses and 1 daily fee resort course; managed the construction of 1st private course
    “Wicked Pony” by Tom Doak

 

— Negotiated a national account with Rainbird Irrigation, which saved the project 60% on all
    material costs and any future purchases

 

 

 

WINGED FOOT GOLF CLUB  -  MAMARONECK, NY

GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT  -  2001–2007

 

— Directed the operations of a private 36-hole facility, replaced the infrastructure, and improved
    the conditions of 2 Championship Courses under a 3-5 year time constraint due to an Amateur
    and U.S. Open Championship

 

— Implemented aggressive agronomic programs to prepare both courses for the 2004 U.S.

 

— Amateur Championship and the West Course for the 2006 U.S. Open Championship

 

— Performed significant renovations, including: rebuilt all bunkers on both courses, recaptured
    lost hole locations on all West Course greens; built 7 new tees adding 300 yards to West
    Course, 4 million dollar irrigation system, developed tree restoration program that eliminated
    800 undesirable species, corrected shade problems and saved specimen trees

 

PEBBLE BEACH GOLF LINKS  -  PEBBLE BEACH, CA

GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT  -  1999–2001

 

— Managed operations for the 18 hole golfing resort, with a 9 hole executive course, athletic
    and equestrian fields, located on the Monterey Peninsula. Rated 1st in the top 100 by Golf
    Digest, May 2001, Moved up from # 4

 

— Developed an aggressive agronomic program to prepare the course for the 2000 U.S. Open
    with 70,000 guest rounds per year

 

— Prepared Pebble Beach to USGA specifications for the 2000 U.S. Open

 

— Possessed a strong working knowledge with using effluent water as an irrigation source

 

— Installed extensive drainage in greens, tees, fairways, and roughs to alleviate chronic
    wet conditions
