Eric has a wealth of experience in all aspect of golf course construction and renovation. He has taken the lead in developing several major construction projects and has worked with some of the best architects in the world to deliver world-class work in a timely and efficient manner. A few of his key projects are highlighted below.

 

 

BELFAIR PLANTATION
East Course Renovation - Large project that consisted of renovating all East Course greenside and fairway bunkers, drainage, landscape bed reshaping, cart path renovations, and several other smalller projects. Eric was able to complete the projects with success, while keeping the West course maintained at championship level thorughout the summer. He also expertly communicated with the membership regarding progress, through a series of blog messages. Highlighted below are five of these updates.

 

Greens Reconstruction - Converted existing Dwarf Bermuda grass greens to Mini Verde Ultra Dwarf Bermuda grass using the “No-Till” method. This method offers the replacement of the turfgrass on a putting green with minimal disruption to the underlying rootzone. No-till planting is popular because it lowers costs and requires less down-time compared to complete reconstruction.

 

 

REMINGTON RANCH
New Course Construction - Involved directing the development of a new residential golfing facility, particularly the construction of the 1st private golf course, Wicked Pony, with architect Tom Doak. The project also entailed management of a $16M construction budget and a $1.5M operating budget.

 

 

WINGED FOOT GOLF CLUB

Bunker Renovation - The project consisted of rebuilding all bunkers on both the East and West Courses. This included new drainage, new sand, shaping, and deepening for more penal recovery shots.

 

Green Extensions - Added additional surface area to many greens with key extensions.

 

New Tee Construction - This addition of 7 new tees was designed to add length to the course in preparation for the 2006 US Open. When completed, the new tees added 200 yards to the West Course.

 

Irrigation Installation - Eric researched and installed a $4M irrigation system for 36 holes along with a state of the art water treatment and fertigation facility.
